Video tutorial step by step creation and import of weapons for games Source VAP
Description:
For modeling and importing models into the game Source requires the following programs:
To start with, what we need:
1 )The game itself DoDS, recommend a licensed version , I'm sure you will not regret the money spent !
2 ) 3dsmax 6, 7, 9...i/ili MilkShape 3D - For creating and modeling your model ( for example: Autodesk_3ds_Max_2009 + SP1)
3 ) MDL Decompiler (new pofiksenaya version ) - Program- decompiler for . mdl files.
For new models will need a HEX- editor to change the header file, a couple of characters , more here.
If there are difficulties: ( the good old version 0.5) - Extract . mdl on textures , animations, and very modelka . C it means dekompiliruesh files . mdl with models from
the game - you get the files SMD - they can already be importnut in MAX.
If you receive an error "vstdlib.dll" download this file :vstdlib.dll.
(The path of the program : C: \ Program Files \ Steam \ SteamApps \ username \ sourcesdk \ bin \ ep1 \ bin)
4 ) 3DS Max importer and exporter SMD
Importer: 3DsMax SMD Importer v1.0.zip - Open the smd files into MAX;
Exporter: 3DsMax SMD Exporter v1.5.zip - to export models from medium 3dsmax into format SMD ( ready-made model to export back to the SMD with the help of this plugin) ;
They should be put in the plug-ins folder .
(Path plugin : C: \ Program Files \ Autodesk \ 3ds Max 2009 \ stdplugs)
5 ) GUI StudioMDL - Used to compile the SMD back . mdl which already can be put into the game.
(GUIStudioMDL.exe - Path Program : C: \ Program Files \ Steam \ SteamApps \ username \ sourcesdk \ bin \ orangebox
or C: \ Program Files \ Steam \ SteamApps \ username \ sourcesdk \ bin \ ep1
register in the settings path : config - set EP1 Tools / Orange Box Tools:
Set EP1 Tools Path ...->C: \ Program Files \ Steam \ SteamApps \ username \ sourcesdk \ bin \ ep1 \ bin
and
Set Orange Box Tools Path ...->C: \ Program Files \ Steam \ SteamApps \ username \ sourcesdk \ bin \ orangebox \ bin
6 ) Adobe Photoshop - To work with . vtf files.
7 ) SDK (there are programs for viewing results)
8 ) Sometimes you can also use the GCFScape - For viewing . gcf files (eg : day of defeat source.gcf) - it contains Stimovskie copy game files
9 ) Head and a pair of hands

- Very good lesson , Creating the first model from the first step to the final import into the game, for MilkShape 3D. Although I will say honestly studied it just to figure out how to tie the dice. mainly worked in 3DsMax.
